What they say about TASHA
Robin Wellesley (Former TASHA Foundation Chairman)
"At the TASHA Foundation Board Meeting on the 7th June 2005, I resigned as Chairman and as a Board Member. After 8 years in those posts, I made the decision that with advancing years it was appropriate for me to stand down in favour of a man with Adrian's outstanding experience and qualities.
Dr. Andrew Bailey has accepted the post of Deputy Chairman and it is a great bonus for TASHA to have Andrew with his background and experience in post.
I wish to thank my fellow directors, our Executive Director Chi Maher, our staff and volunteers who have made my partcipation in TASHA's management so enjoyable, fulfilling and memorable". Robin Wellesley August 2005.
Professor Adrian Woods (Chairman)
"This has been an extremely busy and productive year for us. We have not only managed to secure continued funding for existing projects but we have started to attract significant additional grants to extend our work.
The increase in our work has not been at the expense of either quality or the committment we bring to everything we do. This was recognised when we achieved Matrix accreditation. Their assessor was impressed with not only the high standard of administration and management of projects but also by the level of enthusiam and motivation we bring to our work. This is on top of the excellence we bring to our work with our client groups. The assessor was generous in his praise of the work we do and the way we do it.
As Chair of the Board of Trustess, I am continually impressed by the professionalism of the staff coupled with their desire to help our clients. To be efficient and effective without caring or to be caring without being efficient and effective is not the standrad we demand. At TASHA we expect both and deliver both. If we don't achieve this we all feel we have failed.
Over the last year we have managed to attract a diversity of volunteers to help us in various ways. This is an area we want to expand. The variety of skills and abilities contributed by volunteers means that we can benefit from cutting-edge business and professional practice at a fraction of what such skills would cost if we had to purchase them. Particularly pleasing is the number of young people who want to give up their time to work with us.
Over the last year, the Board of Trustees has put in place changes, not only in the way we conduct the oversight and direction of TASHA Foundation but also in how the Board Members can support development, from which we will soon begin to see the benefits.
Over the next year we intend to devote more energy to the Friends of TASHA Foundation, developing our Social Enterprise activities, improving our marketing and advice literature and of course, finding new sources of funding to further our charitable work.
At the centre of everything is the belief that we make a difference. Please help us to make it happen." Professor Adrian Woods June 2006.
London Borough Commissioner (Anon)
"We have given TASHA a contract three times larger than the original one - that indicates our sense of confidence."
