TASHA FOUNDATION, the West London drugs charity is proposing Saturday 23^rd July, the date of Amy Winehouse’s death, as the date for a national “Addiction Recovery” day.

“Society is starting to look upon addiction as the illness it is, rather than as a crime” said Audrey D’Costa, Chief Executive of TASHA. “Recovering addicts like Amy need support to prevent them relapsing, and TASHA plays a valuable role in delivering that support. We know that Amy’s father Mitch has spoken to the Home Office Select Committee about the delays in addicts receiving treatment, and we hope that commemorating the date of Amy’s death by creating an Addiction Recovery Day is something that Amy’s family would approve of”.
